I Am a Quilter

My Adventures in Quilting

Who am I?  Well, are you sitting down?

I live in Kansas City with my husband of enough years.  We have a dachshund who likes to photo-bomb my pictures, so I’m sure she will be making appearances from time to time.

In a nutshell, I have a strange sense of humor and a profound number of interests to coincide.  When I’m not quilting, I play video games (specfically RPG’s like Elder Scrolls online, Skyrim, and Dragon Age), golf (albeit poorly), and watch movies or TV.  I do have a more-than-full-time job which is very stressful, but that is what I do, not who I am.  I use quilting as a stress reliever, creative outlet, social opportunity, and excuse to be by myself.  There are times when I lose myself for hours in my sewing room which is fine by me.  I love being in there, sewing, quilting, listening to music.

I am originally from Indiana where I met and married my husband, but I never felt at home until we moved to Kansas City.  Now, this is where I am from.  It is where career opportunities have abounded for my husband and me.  It is where I found the Kansas City Modern Quilters Guild and became a member.  It is where I plan on spending the rest of my days.

I have a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Upper Iowa University that I received from the Ft. Riley, KS campus while my husband was in the Army.  We recently purchased a house, which now needs filled with warm and cuddly things like quilts, and pillows, and table runners, and mug rugs, and…

I am excited to bring this blog to you and the rest of the world.  At times, I find myself typing a draft on my phone during my break and not even notice how much time has flow by.  I hope that you will enjoy reading as much as I enjoy writing.
